Hurry up and wait

This weekend is gonna be overwhelming!!

A) Move into the new loft

B) No Tax weekend in Texas

Yes I didn't stutter...that's tax free weekend. I've only been here in H-town for a short period of time so I didn't know all the specifics until just about 30 minutes ago. At first I was like...no tax, well i'll buy a car this weekend then. I was quickly dissappointed when I found it was just no tax on retail stuff. Which is still a pretty big deal. I think its to help out families with kids in school buying new clothes and school supplies for the new school year about to start. Isn't that sweet of TX. I sure wish I wouldve had the little nugget if info before I just spent way too much and stuff for my new room at the loft. I just like saying at the loft. But ya know what, its ok to splurge for the high thread count. Sleeping's like athird of your life. Spend the money people!! I really wanna get a screen door to put up with a door mat that says "come on in!" That would be a hit.

Mr. McDonald has past me twice in the hallway today. I think he's avoiding my email from early this morning requesting some crucial data. I think i'll go regulate on him in 28 minutes.

I don't wanna be an indian giver and ask for my dvd player back from my sister and neice but i do kinda want it back now. Oh well, it is no tax weekend so i'll just bite the bullet and get a new one. They are pretty cheap these days.

This morning I started the day for the second time in a row with the amazing BK Mocha Joe...it woulda been worth 5 stops Dees! Yesterday was a little much when I drank my blue coffee mug full of coffee then followed that with a BK Joe, so today I just went with the trip to BK. Talk about the jitters!

Can't wait till AUGUST 30th...that's right the first College football game of the season on ESPN, and who could it be? None other than my Mississippi State Bulldogs!! Hope everybody tunes in to see us put it to LSU...Come on DAWGS!!

With that in mind i'll try another poll...let's hope this one doesnt get skewed.

Dees Does Houston

It's been a while so it's good to be back. This morning was an adventure...the cars all had particularly bright lights and all rode about 95 and right on my tail. There's no need for that at six in the a.m. Let;s just cruise to work people! But i don't mind, i made it to work ok and now i'm pumped about Chipotle Friday. I might have mentioned it before but we go to Chipotle aka sweet mexican buffet every friday. You can't mess with tradition.

The newest addition to my office is...get ready...the official Dwight Bobble head doll from "the office." I got it in the mail from Kee yesterday and it has now taken over the slot of Best Birthday Present this year!

Just had to take a break and grab a cup of joe....what would i do without it.

So today kicks off the big apt. search!! I'm pumped, anxious, excited, frightened, ancy, words can't describe. Having no bills is all good but it's time to join Dees! And my commute won't be a freakin hour and a half anymore...SWEET!!

Can't wait till the kickball/wiffleball/dodgeball intramural team gets kicked off...i just got asked to join yesterday...i was honored. And no i'm not joking.

Ursala from across the hall and her braces are doing just fine! Her newest afternoon activity is to plan if she's going to her boyfriends house or if he's coming to her's for the night. Its pretty much a 2:30 ritual.

I just started the countdown till 2:30.

The poll is over and i will never have a poll again (yes i probably will) because I think it was skewed somehow. Frisbee is not the coolest looking sport (i dont care who said it was)!

So my favorite part of the "real world" (besides actually having money) is LUNCH!!
I never looked forward to lunch so much before.

What's your favorite part of the real world...if your in it yet??

Back from G-Town with a Stuffy Nose and a Cough

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! I'm pretty sad about forgetting my jacket for the second day in a row. It's 95 deg. outside but a chilly 40 deg. or so in my office so yes, i'm gonna freeze all day. But I think i'll make some lemonade with the lemons i've been given by life today.
So anyways...Galveston was pretty much a Killer time. However to echo what I said last post about it being a CRAP beach...the sign as you walk onto the beach lets you know that the bacteria levels are "acceptable." And yes, they mean the flesh eating kind...i'm serious!
But the beach seved its purpose. We had a cool group of 10 that piled in a minivan a headed down there. We sat on the beach all day saturday and i didnt get sunburned. I remebered to bring the radio so we took it everywhere and it came in handy! The beach house had an elevator. Its pretty ridiculous that it had one seeing as how it was only three stories tall and the elevator only serviced the botton two floors. But you know we had to ride it tons of times anyway.
But the real fun happened when i got back to Houston when I found out that the great people from the Lofts at the Ballpark had towed my car for me. Apparently I was on the 5th floor of the garage instead of the 6th or 7th where visitors are to park. Rules are rules i guess but that's crap because there were a total of 0 cars where I was parked...go figure. I wanna meet the guy who goes to check who's parked where on the weekends. I'd sure light him up!! But I got my ride back in one peice and went home to sleep and recoup from the weekend. Over all i'd say the G-town trip was a huge success. I went to the beach, had fun, made new friends!!
So on another note...the highlight this week is the apartment hunt. It's way harder here than it was in Starkville but its a pretty fun adventure. I cant wait to see how many housewarming gifts we get!
I sure bet young Deezy is not looking forward to moving his crap here but it will be worth while once it is all said and done!
Well...it's Tuesday...Let's have a good one!!

So i told you about my tow truck story. Let's here about a time when your car got towed??
You know....to make me feel better!

Ole Muddy Water

Things that have happened already today...
a) woke up in a good mood
b) snoozed for 10 minutes
c) forgot to bring some birthday cake to work
d) got a craving for IHOP
e) got blinded by some stupid truck's bright lights

Well I grew up in the wonderful town of Mobile, AL...where the beach and florida are just an hours drive away. So needless to say me and all my friends from there are quite spoiled. So now my folks have been here in H-town a couple years and now that i'm here too, one of the first things my mom wanted to do was hit up good ole Galveston and see what it is all about. Now before I go any further...I'll apoligize to anyone who actually likes Galveston and thinks it's a decent beach. Let me just tell you...It's CRAP for a beach. It resembles a ghost town. You actually end up with more black crap on your feet than sand at the end of the day. The sand is a lovely shade of skanky brown and hard as a rock! The place we ate at for some "seafood" was not even as good as wal-mart seafood and the seaguls hound over you and don't hesitate to come right up and skeeze the food off your plate. I'll bring some alka seltzer for them next time.

Now, with that said...Guess where i'm going for the weekend? GALVESTON...haha.
Zamboa and I got the invite yesterday to come stay at a little beach house with his boy and the rest of those interns who like to crunch numbers. I'm actually pretty pumped about it. Yeah you know my feelings about the beach there but i'm a firm believer that any place/situation can be made fun with the right attitudes and people! Don't you agree? Plus the ratio is going to be pretty good...11 total, 6 gals and 5 dudes.

One of my Favorite Vacation spots is a Snowboard/Skiing trip to anywhere in the Rockies where you can stay in a cozey cabin.
What's one of your Favorite Vacation Hot Spots??

Pirate wannabe or little kid with a lazy eye

Yep i'm not playing about the eypatch thing...i really did sport a patch for my bum eye at one point in my childhood. Its cool though.
So it's true...friday was the big 23 b-day. I wouldn't recommend getting that old for you, but i made the best of it. Yesterday was the lady across the halls (we'll call her Ursala...due to her crazy hair) birthday. She got balloons, streamers, hats, confetti, and cake. She also got braces...bummer. Maybe she got the braces from too much of that last thing. And she's way older than 23, so I didnt feel too bad about not getting my office decorated. I managed to track some of the confetti into my office from the hallway. Shoot...I took friday off for my birthday, that's what i'm talkin about. I got a dry-erase board yesterday. I'm sure it's for important notes and engineering drawings but for now i'll stick with tic tac toe and hangman. No, i don't really play tic tac toe at work but maybe i can convince chad with the red curls to play one day. Also i bet that i'll get some football grafitti on my new board since i've been writing a big "GO DAWGS" on everybody elses. That's no lie.
Tomorrow is Chipotle thursday (as opposed to the regular Chipotle Friday) since one of the crew is going to Puerta Rico on friday. I hope I didnt spell that wrong? Chipotle for lunch is always something to look forward to. I don't look forward to days like today when I had easy mac at my desk for lunch...bummer.
Well it's about time I go get some of that B-day cake that my mom made me today...yum!!
I already know what I'm gonna write about tomorrow but it'll just have to wait.

My favorite birthday present this year was the watch with the leather strap...it's pretty much the coolest!

What's the best birthday present you've ever gotten?

The song of the evening is "Good Directions" by Billy Currington
It's not like a situation like that would ever happen in real life though.

here goes nothing

So I first have to give a shout out to that guy who is always getting yelled at by his mom...he's pretty much ridiculous! I was sceptical at first but now plan on spending lots of useless time here. The working life is different, that's for sure. But i'm actually starting to love it. Getting up before the sun rises is for the birds though. But what do ya do...its not so bad. I gotta make this first bad boy a short and sweet one...or short and sour depending on what kind of mood you're in. Let's have a good wednesday!

What I miss most about Mississippi State?
-Definitely all those pretty Mississippi girls always around...yall know you'll always have a close place in my heart!!

What do you miss about college?
